Usability Engineering

Target: to create an online teaching unit including a small case study (SW-project) demonstrating one or more Usability Engineering techniques (e.g. Personas, Paper Prototypes, Guerilla Testing). Participants will learn how to use the required Usability Engineering techniques and our eLearning tool ILIAS (including Adobe Connect). The result will be an eLearning module with the required materials to allow self-learning, remote-teaching and blended learning.


Prerequisites: one or more of the following competences:
- Skills in programming (preferably JAVA)
- Knowledge of using software development tools and/or tools for UI creation, prototyping or testing
- Knowledge of office tools like word, powerpoint, graphics tools
- Knowledge of filming
- Project management skills to organize and manage the project
Results: 3 ECTS for successful participation in the summer school, additional 3 ECTS for delivering a homework (e.g. additional eLearning material + documentation) defined during the summer school.
